Grammy-winning DJ Zedd just keeps breaking records. He also seems to have a type; two years ago, the world-renowned EDM producer and writer, who’s worked with pop phenoms like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Selena Gomez, took Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s Encino home off their hands for a cool $15.2 million. The 15,000-square-foot modern spec mansion was dreamed up by residential designer Jae Omar, and the transaction set the 2021 record for the priciest residential sale in the upscale San Fernando Valley suburb. Fast forward to just a few days ago: the Clarity producer dropped $18.4 million for ODIN—another modern spec designed by Jae Omar—setting the record for Encino’s priciest home sale of 2023, according to The Real Deal.
Funny enough, Zedd sold his 9,400-square-foot Beverly Hills manse for $18.4 million earlier this year. He had welcomed AD into the modern abode back in 2018, where he shared that “symmetry is probably the most important thing to me.” And ODIN, inspired by ancient Norse mythology, looks to be awash in the balance, proportion, and steady rhythm that Zedd values.
Sitting on just under an acre of land, the 18,000-square-foot modern farmhouse is warm and discreet. Floors, walls, countertops, shelving, and beamed ceilings are paneled in a variety of unpolished timbers, including aromatic cedar and knotty wood. Eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms are spread throughout the abode, while a one-bedroom, one-bathroom, 600-square-foot guesthouse also sits on the property. Enormous walls and floor-to-ceiling glass doors allow for a seamless transition from the indoors to the outdoors, ushering in the Southern California sunlight and views of the surrounding natural scenery.
Highlights of the house include a library, a theater, a glass-enclosed wine cellar, and a bowling alley. As for other amenities on the grounds, a Junior Olympic-sized pool with a sunken fire pit can be found outside, as well as several lounges, a wellness center with a spa and gym, and a meditation area.
