It took some time, but Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alumna Kathy Hilton has sold a SoCal spec house that she first listed in September 2021 for $55 million. The designer and former actor (and mother to socialites Nicky and Paris Hilton) dropped the asking price for her Bel Air, California, abode a few times before removing the listing in October of last year. According to public records, the Georgian-style mansion finally sold for about $30 million below that initial asking price last week. Per Robb Report, the buyer is an entity linked to Chinese beverage industry billionaire Song Qinghou.
Spanning a reported 18,000 square feet, the eight-bedroom and 16-bathroom home’s contemporary interiors were designed by Hilton herself, in collaboration with Nicole Gordon Studio. Hilton, along with her husband, hotel heir Richard Hilton, paid about $9.3 million for the property in 2015 and tore down the existing structure to start anew. “This house, we bought, Rick and I, for ourselves,” Kathy Hilton said of the Bel Air dwelling in a 2021 Real Housewives episode. “But Rick goes, ‘Don’t you have like all these sentimental memories here [at our primary home] and everything? I mean, this house is perfect for us,’” she recounted, referring to the pair’s nearby 15,000-square-foot stony mansion home base.

The freshly sold white brick residence features a foyer with checkerboard stone floors—bearing some resemblance to the one in Hilton’s primary residence, which AD toured in 2021. “I love the black-and-white floor. My favorite hotel in London is Claridge’s, and that’s where we got that idea,” Hilton said. An elevator connects the dwelling’s three stories, plus a lower-level floor that hosts a wet bar, a glass-walled wine room, a kitchen, a tiered theater, and a wood-paneled gym.
Out back, a colossal tri-level limestone terrace leads down to a rectangular pool and spa, plus a pool house that offers an additional kitchen and bathroom.
