Looks like socialite, actor, and fashion muse Julia Fox may have had a change of heart when it comes to the size of her home. According to The Real Deal, the Uncut Gems star teamed up with her model/photographer bestie, Richie Shazam Khan, to buy a four-story Harlem brownstone for $2.9 million—a far cry from the cramped quarters she showed followers in a viral TikTok this January.
The video shows a tightly packed two-bedroom conversion where the kitchen doubles as a closet, with stacks of shoe boxes on top of a small set of drawers: “[This] is very common for New Yorkers,” the Milan-born model explains. Fox’s bed is also in the living room; she starts off the tour by saying she positioned it there “so I could turn my bedroom into a little playroom for [son] Valentino.” She later goes on to say that she doesn’t “like excessive displays of wealth—they make me feel icky. Especially people who have really big houses. It’s just really wasteful when there’s so many homeless people in this country.” Perhaps that’s why she chose to split the seven-bedroom, five bathroom residence with her pal.

The 5,900-square-foot upper Manhattan abode was built in 1888 and recently underwent a modern makeover. Per the listing, the first floor of the multi-family dwelling can serve as a standalone apartment or as one floor of a duplex. Floors three and four can function as a second duplex or as a triplex if the second floor is added. The building also offers 1,200 square feet of unfinished cellar space. Images show spacious rooms drenched in sunlight, many of which retain their historic features like exposed brick walls and wooden door and window frames. Photos also display three upgraded kitchens with a rustic look and fireplaces in several of the rooms.
Fox was nominated for the Breakthrough Actor Award at the 2019 Gotham Awards for her role in Adam Sandler’s Uncut Gems. She became more widely known in early 2022 during a brief, highly-publicized romance with rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
