Editors' Take

Ariel Okin’s talents lie in her ability to produce interiors that feel traditional yet incredibly fresh, thanks to her application of spring colors and floral patterns in elegant and exciting ways. Stepping into one of her spaces can feel like wandering into a meadow.

About

Ariel Okin is the founder of the eponymous interior design firm Ariel Okin Interiors, a New York–based, full-service interior design firm specializing in luxury residential, commercial ,and hospitality projects across the country. Her signature style can be interpreted as “traditional with a twist”—warm, livable, and elegant spaces, with an edited, contemporary, and practical approach. A deft use of color, emphasis on clean lines, and mix of bespoke and antique items are hallmarks of her aesthetic, yet no two projects are alike; Okin believes every home should reflect its owner.

Okin has designed for celebrities such as Lena Dunham and Sara Foster, as well as the headquarters for brands like Goop, Maisonette, and Minnow Swim. Okin established her firm in 2016, and has since been featured and profiled in AD, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Domino, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, New York magazine, and more.

In 2022, Okin was named to House Beautiful’s Next Wave designer list, a grouping of 11 of the most up and coming recognized talents in the interiors industry. In 2021, she was named a House & Garden Gold List designer.

Okin is also a contributing writer to Vogue, AD, and Domino, and in 2020 launched an editorial and e-commerce platform, Fenimore Lane, which covers all aspects of the living vertical.
